Rod Works has always been proud to offer unique and original designs and the frame rod is one of those designs. The frame rod has been around since the beginning of Rod Works. Meaning it has been popular for more then 10 years. The clean graceful lines of the fancy frame rod has always been the favorite and will be a classic touch to your home. We have come up with a few new designs over the years which are just as beautiful. So go with the style you feel will go best with your decor. There are multiple ways you can spruce up your walls with the frame rod and it instantly makes your photo wall into a work of art.
We have found that the easiest way to layout your frame rod wall is to lay the frame arrangement out on the floor first. That way no unnecessary holes will be put into the wall. Decide if you are going to go symmetrical or asymmetrical with your layout. Remember you can add a lot more to your frame rod besides just picture frames. There are clocks, signs and wreaths…just to mention a few. You can go above and below the frame rod as much as you would like. This is where you can start getting very creative. And this can be just the beginning to your frame rod wall. You can add sconces and prints to either side of the frame rod as well.
If you love the ribbon look but don’t love that the ribbon doesn’t hold them sturdy or straight…we have the perfect solution for the you. It’s called the Fake Hang. The fake hang allows you to get creative with your ribbon without making it more difficult to hang your picture frames. Follow these instructions to get the ribbon look without the wobbly frames hanging from ribbon.
Hang frame rod and picture frame on wall in desired location. Remove picture frames to expose nail or screw. For hanging without a bow cut ½ yard of ribbon for each picture frame. Wrap ½ yard of ribbon around frame rod and back down towards nail or screw with ends being even. Tape ends to wall close to nail or screw. Hang picture on nail or screw. To add a bow cut 1 yard of ribbon and slide behind the ½ yard of ribbon taped to the wall, bring ends even and tie a bow.
Now that you have the basic set up of your frame rod done you can really start to add the details to your wall. Wreaths are always a beautiful touch. They add a little bit of softness plus gives you a graceful circle which helps balance all the squares and straight lines. Don’t be afraid to add things to your frame rod. An added bonus to using ribbon…it’s easy to change out. So if you want a new color or texture in the room just change the ribbon. It makes a big difference. Don’t be afraid to decorate above and off to the sides of the frame rod as well. Enjoy your new and improved frame wall!
